Dealer's Choice
For this next project I am planning to go back to the original theme from the very first project in the class. I'm going with the theme of fear, being alone with the feeling someone is there. I'm leaning on using the same actress and no dialog except for a cut-off scream at the end of the film perhaps and will probably set up at the dorm. The dorm already has a cold and creepy feeling to it. Even though fear is my theme, I want to add some humorous twist, maybe i'll do some stop-motion. I want to have a sense of an abundance of space and a slight creepy factor to the film as well as some humor mixed into it. I still have not decided to go b&w or color or something else yet. I can always experiment.

It really seems interesting to work with fear and humor- maybe going somewhat over the top with the fear will bring out the humor.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of potential with the theme plus stop motion, but what will be filmed exactly? Black and white may be interesting as well.
ReplyDeleteOooh, those stairs at the dorm could be lit and look really freaky! That walkway we saw across the street was really creepy, too.
ReplyDeleteInteresting theme and i like that you drew it from a past project. I also like that you are thinking of putting a humorous twist to it. I am a little concerned about making it black in white because it may be kind of corny if it isn't done right or you could play with making it overly corny as part of the humor aspect. And try to add more real shots than stop motion but i love the idea of using stop motion. Great concept
ReplyDeletemaybe, I can mix in those stairs. good idea.
ReplyDeleteI would personally, if I were doing that, pick fear or humor, but that is just me. However sometimes an addition emotion can come out through unintended means. My last one was suppose to be serious, yet ended up kind of funny, at least to me. Hope that helps.
ReplyDeleteHey, I think your idea is very broad. I think you should organize and narrow it down really well, that way you cant make the same mistakes as you did the first time. Fear is a really big area to cover in film productions, there is no doubt that you can experiment and get some great handiwork done, just make sure you have it all thought out first so you can just lay down all your production/camera work. Good luck.

I agree with what most everybody else is saying, in that there really isn't enough of a plot here for us to go off of, especially since this will be such a plot-heavy piece...
